Brief
Create a brand identity for a new niche TV channel. With one of the following subjects:
-
Technology/engineering/science
-
Environmental issues
-
Food and wine
-
Adventurous outdoor sports such as climbing, hiking,
-
Canoeing, skiing, mountain-biking, wild swimming etc.
The programme content will be wide and varied and will include new, documentary and drama associated with your chosen topic.
The target audience is an articulate, media-savvy group and viewers of existing digital and terrestrial channels with a mix of intelligent cultural content and cult programming. Research, analyse and develop concepts around your subject.
Produce a branding proposal for this new channel, this should consist of a minimum of three items:
-
An identity (logo + styling of other key visual assets a TV channel would need eg. listings of what’s on next between programmes, stationery, outside broadcast vans etc.)
-
A moving ident or sting
-
a piece of additional publicity material in another medium of your choice that reflects your own interests and enthusiasm within design. For example, for those interested in editorial design, this could be treated as a prestigious keep-sake item for journalists invited to the launch party, in the form of a promotional brochure or artist’s book on your channel's theme, or for those interested in advertising this could be a poster/advertising campaign for the new channel, or something else of your own invention.

These stings use footage of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice trailers, a Legend of Zelda longplay and an interview with developers from Supergiant Games. The original footage is not my own work but is to merely serve as a placeholder example of what the programs these programming stings may contain.
