Pleasurelands

Brief

Produce three alternative sets of magazine pages (250 x 202mm trimmed page size), which explore the use of different grid systems. Each set will consist of two double-page spreads, giving you a ‘splash’ and a ‘turn’. You will use this same basic copy for all three sets of spreads. You will source appropriate images through an internet image search.

Each set of spreads should feature:

a headline
sub-head stand-first
at least one pull quote
at least one caption
folios
running head/foot
a minimum of 4 pictures
a minimum of 600 words of copy

While the basic content remains the same for each set of spreads, what we want you to explore are the effects of using the following column structures:

9 columns
11 columns
